The ask: brand anthem for an engineering firm that has been serving the region for 65 years.
The plan: Tell the Thompson story briefly, but focus on their amazing people.
We love super fun clients like Thompson as they allow us to experience wonderful moments we might not normally get to see and do, but more importantly, they have such an interesting story that has truly shaped the world.
Quick heads up when working with engineers – they have the most thorough production plans we’ve seen outside of a feature film. There were binders with detailed schedules, call sheets, highly efficient post-production notations and lots and lots of laughs.
Working with communications director Renie Baya we crafted a thoughtful script. It was emotional. It was simple. It was highly effective but the real beauty of the project was the inclusion of Thompson employees as the heroic cast of characters. This is after all their brand anthem.
Shot over the course of 8 days in multiple locations in the region we were able to capture visually impressive set pieces supported by our incredible cast. We kept the crew small – just two of us + a producer. This allowed us to be nimble when necessary but kept the production value worthy of a feature-length documentary.
The delivery of the brand anthem had a two-stage roll out. The first of which was an in-person presentation from the CEO to the various offices around the region. There were standing ovations, a few tears here and there, but most importantly there was an overwhelming sense of pride.
For the second stage of the rollout, Thompson will feature the brand anthem on the website, social media, and other professional outputs. A separate outtake reel was created to help continue the conversation internally.
